Pictures of the Barbican Occupation

United Voices of the World returned to the Barbican Centre for the second time this month to protest for the London Living Wage, proper contractural sick pay and an end to bullying, intimidation and victimisation. This time we went unannounced and were able to gain access to the Barbican Centre which we occupied until the police came and threw us out, following which we continued protesting outside and marched around the builiding and into the residential quarters of the Barbican. The public fully supported our demands and were appaled that the Barbican would allow their chosen contrator MITIE to abuse the cleaners on site including overworking pregnant women who have had actual and near misacrraiages, and clenaers being physically assaulted and threatened with dismissal if they protested.
