Name & Shame Topshop

“Hi everyone – I would really appreciate it if you would take a minute of your time today to tell Topshop what you think about the fact that they pay all their shop floor staff poverty wages, instead of the real London Living Wage of £9.40 per hour.

The best way to do this is to comment on their Facebook page posts atwww.facebook.com/Topshop and by Tweeting them @Topshop. Please use the hashtag ‪#‎topshoplivingwage‬

By paying us poverty wages we can’t even cover basic costs in London like rent, food and travel without going into debt and we have to often make unbearable choices between, for example, heating our home or eating a good meal. It is really hard to live a dignified life like this and it’s especially hard for my children. Surely Topshop can afford to pay us a living wage.

As you know Topshop has rejected our request to be paid a living wage and has confirmed that they will continue to pay all shop floor staff poverty wages, or as they put it “hourly rates which are legally compliant”. However, as I know you all agree, just because it is legal to pay someone a poverty wage does not make it right, especially if the owner of the company you work for is a billionaire.

Please also like and share my trade union’s Facebook page to help the campaign.

Thank you so much for your continued support. Together we can win.”
