More than 70 United Voices of the World (UVW) members came together at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Casa UVW to celebrate our wins, share experiences and help shape the future of our union.
From cleaners and NHS workers to security guards, housekeepers, hospitality, charity and other workers, we came together around one simple truth:
We Keep the City Running.
Members took part in group activities by sector, bringing together workers of different languages, nationalities and workplaces. Despite their different jobs and backgrounds, members identified common issues and shared ideas about how to organise and build power together.
Several workers also took to the stage to share their experiences and what they have learned through organising with UVW.
And, of course, there was a fantastic barbecue, plenty of conversation and a lovely, festive atmosphere.
Together, we committed to keep organising, building power in our workplaces and communities, and continuing to grow our union.
