We want to make our voices heard!

On Saturday we had an amazing public speaking workshop for UVW women and non-binary people – it was our second one in 2018. In this men’s world we want to make our voices heard! We UVW women and non-binary people want to challenge sexism and gender inequality. In this workshop we encouraged each other not to be silent and learnt tools on how to speak about the issues we most care about. Together we saw our fears melt away and heard such great speeches!

As Audre Lorde wrote in the Transformation of Silence into Language and Action

“I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood. […] What are the words you do not have yet? What do you need to say? What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence? “
