Dear Chris Duke, London region workplace service manager at the Government Property Administration,

I am writing to you as a supporter of the facilities workers at the sanctuary buildings, who are currently in dispute with their employer, ISS UK. As you may know, the workers’, through their union have raised the following demands:

- The increase in pay to the London Living wage of £13.15 per hour, backdated to the date of introduction of the rate in October 2023
- Parity in sick pay entitlement with their civil service colleagues
- Parity in annual leave entitlement with their civil service colleagues
- An end to understaffing and overworking

I hope you will agree that these demands are just and reasonable and that the maintenance of a two-tier workforce in the sanctuary building should not continue, that these workers are crucial to the operation of the department and therefore should receive the same terms and conditions as everyone else working under the same roof.

We hope that you will use your influence to persuade ISS to negotiate with the facilities workers union, in the hope that this dispute can be drawn to a close in the interest of justice and that further industrial action can be prevented.
