Numeracy workshop report: 100% success!

The workshop was very helpful. The teacher really took us into numeracy and I brushed up my knowledge. I am looking for more!”

UVW member and participant

The UVW numeracy course for members on 18 March at Casa UVW was a great success! So much so that the participants are counting on more math courses!

The workshop, which is run by the prestigious adult education institution the City Lit, covered issues mostly related to payslips, including calculations of National Insurance and taxes. A couple of attendees had even brought queries about their payslips with them. They all left with a better understanding of their payslips and how to work out their contributions.

The students found the course very useful. One of them explained: “The teacher really took us into numeracy and I brushed up my knowledge. I am looking for more! Solve problems, percentage, tax deduction etc.”

The numeracy courses are free and open to UVW members, and friends or relatives of members, who are 19 years old or older and don’t already have a GCSE grade C/4 or higher in Maths.

More courses are on the pipeline. Keep an eye out for updates!
