TWO Free 10-week English language courses for UVW members = BEGINNERS AND INTERMEDIATE

UPDATE: We have been informed by City Lit that classes will not be starting this Saturday 14 September. Until we have clarity about course content and start dates, the courses are on hold. UVW apologise for any inconvenience caused.

On Saturday 21 September, two English courses of different levels for UVW members will begin, each lasting 10 weeks. One course is for beginners, and the other is for those UVW members who attended Aida’s classes in May-June 2024.

Our FREE AND BESPOKE workshops are done in collaboration with City Lit, Europe’s largest centre for adult education. You will receive a City Lit certificate with your name and date of when you completed the course.

Both courses will help your English for everyday life and work. You will:

• develop your speaking, listening, reading, writing.
• practise asking and answering questions using present simple, present continuous, past simple and future forms.
• talk and write about everyday life in the present, past, future and in general.
• practise describing and comparing objects and pictures
• practise listening for details in short conversations and recordings about everyday topics.
• practise writing short emails or letters formal and informal.
• improve your use of capital letters, full stops, question marks and commas.
• work on your spelling of everyday words.
• practise completing simple forms
• read different types of texts and
• practise finding information and details, and understanding their general meaning.
