The cleaners at Riverside Quarter, a large luxury residence in Wandsworth, London, are demanding a dignified pay rate and better terms and conditions.

The cleaners, all full time workers from Bolivia and Ecuador, are willing to take strike action to win their modest demands. 

Daniel Javier Mullo Olallar, from Ecuador, who looks after the communal areas at Riverside says “I have worked here for three years. We receive the minimum wage, and we do not make ends meet. I’m willing to take strike action in order to be able to support the family and make ends meet. “

The workers say the statutory minimum is not nearly enough to get them through the cost of living crisis in one of the most expensive cities in the world. 

The cleaners’ pay and working conditions are determined by Endersham, a residential manning agent, contracted by Rendall & Rittner.

The resident’s association has expressed strong support for the cleaners’ demands. 

Alongside precarious workers up and down the country they are demanding their fair share.
