Do you live or work in East London? Are you tired of not getting paid enough, being poorly treated, or overworked? 

Fill in this survey to help shape UVW union and Nijjor Manush’s programme to build collective power for workers and residents of Tower Hamlets.

South Asian residents and workers of East London face precarious workplace conditions and worker and racial exploitation.  

Deshi Shongram, meaning local struggle or Deshi struggle, reflects our belief that migrants who fight for their rights in the workplace can also organise in their local communities. The programme aims to support residents and workers in building power in their daily lives and community. We plan to:  

• Support UVW members facing problems at work or in their daily lives 
• Build a strong local union base  
• Identify, train and develop community leaders  
• Win collective material improvements in working and living conditions  

The community support programme will be led by the needs of the community–so we start by listening to you.

পূর্ব লন্ডনের দক্ষিণ এশীয় বাসিন্দা ও শ্রমিকরা ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ কর্মপরিবেশ এবং শ্রমিক ও বর্ণগত শোষণের সম্মুখীন হন।  

দেশি শংগ্রাম, যার অর্থ স্থানীয় সংগ্রাম বা দেশি সংগ্রাম, আমাদের বিশ্বাসকে প্রতিফলিত করে যে কর্মস্থলে তাদের অধিকার রক্ষায় লড়াই করা অভিবাসীরা তাদের স্থানীয় সম্প্রদায়েও সংগঠিত হতে পারে। এই কর্মসূচি বাসিন্দা ও শ্রমিকদের তাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবন ও সম্প্রদায়ে ক্ষমতা গড়ে তুলতে সহায়তা করার লক্ষ্যে গড়ে উঠেছে। আমরা পরিকল্পনা করছি:  

• কর্মক্ষেত্রে বা দৈনন্দিন জীবনে সমস্যার সম্মুখীন UVW সদস্যদের সহায়তা করা  
• একটি শক্তিশালী স্থানীয় ইউনিয়ন ভিত্তি গড়ে তোলা 
• সম্প্রদায়ের নেতাদের চিহ্নিত, প্রশিক্ষণ ও উন্নয়ন করা 
• কর্ম ও জীবনযাত্রার অবস্থায় সামগ্রিক উন্নতি অর্জন করা 

সম্প্রদায় সমর্থন কর্মসূচি সম্প্রদায়ের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী পরিচালিত হবে—তাই আমরা প্রথমেই আপনাদের কথা শুনি।
